About Me

I graduated in English Philology at the University of Seville and York University, Canada, where I took some courses on translation (English-Spanish). My degree focuses on a variety of aspects of the language, from its culture to its history to learning & teaching the language. Therefore, through my degree and my experience abroad and with foreigners in Spain has provided me with a deep knowledge of both languages, something essential to be both a good translator and an interpreter.
Considering the variety of options I had after my degree, I came to realize what my real passion is: translating and interpreting. This is why I then started a master's degree in International Communication, Translation and Interpretation at the University of Pablo Olavide, where I specialized in different translation texts (scientific, technical, audiovisual, advertising, legal, etc.) and I was introduced to interpreting in both public services and conferences (liaison, consecutive and simultaneous).
Since this profession requires mastering the language and learning as much as you can about its environment, I specialize in only ENGLISH and SPANISH. Even though I speak French, I don't usually work towards French, only from French to Spanish, and only for translation.
Not only do you need the above, but you also need experience and good research skills. Even though it is not essential to master a subject matter, this will obviously be an advantage. Therefore, I specialize in specific fields, such as web translation, literature, the audiovisual sector, education and some others. However, I translate and interpret to and from almost any topic.
Regarding translation, I've translated mainly audiovisual texts, science, literature, websites, blogs, generic texts and marketing and advertising. As for interpretation, the main fields I've worked in so far are audiovisual, engineering, architecture, construction, business meetings and legal consultancies. These are only some of the areas I've touched upon during my career.
